A toast to rum and rebellion

Our rums each have their own unique flavour to be enjoyed in different ways by people with different preferences.

Whether that’s on a beach watching the sunset, dancing through the streets at carnival, warming yourself by the fire after a winter walk or after a lavish dinner with friends.

Everyone has their own recipe with Westerhall rums. Some prefer it neat, others on the rocks, others with one of a variety of mixers.

Here are just a few of our favourite creative recipes to get you started…

Blueberry Burst Mojito

Blueberry Burst Mojito

Combine 8 blueberries, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, 2 teaspoons sugar, 8 fresh mint leaves and 25ml No. 3 with ice. Top with club soda, and garnish with fresh lime, mint and a few more blueberries.

If you want to make it extra special, infuse your rum overnight with the blueberries.

Ginger & Lime Daiquiri

Ginger & Lime Daiquiri

Take 50ml of our No. 5, 25ml lime juice, 25ml of Westerhall’s famous ginger and nutmeg syrup and shake thoroughly with ice.

Decant into a sugar-rimmed glass and finish with grated fresh ginger and a wheel of lime.

Punched Pineapple

Punched Pineapple

For those hot summer days. Fill a tall glass with ice and add a pinch of nutmeg, 25ml coconut schnapps, 37.5ml No. 3, 12.5ml creme de banane, 12.5ml mango purée and 12.5ml grenadine. Top it up with pineapple juice, then cover the glass with a Boston tin and shake hard.

Multiply all the ingredients by 4 and and serve in a pitcher to share with friends.

The Rum & Champagne Classic

The Rum & Champagne Classic

Our take on the classic champagne cocktail.

Take 25ml of No. 5, one cube of brown sugar, a pippet of red wine and peach bitters, and a teaspoon of pomegranate seeds in a flute glass. Top up with rose champagne and a small dash of Chambord.

Finish it off with a fresh strawberry and enjoy.

The Unicorn Twist

The Unicorn Twist

For those with a sweet tooth.

Take 40ml of No. 3, 15ml of creme de cassis, a squeeze of lime juice and a dash of Chambord. Add 75ml of pineapple juice and shake hard over ice.

To finish, garnish with every kind of edible sweet you can get your greedy hands on.

Grenadian Spirit

Grenadian Spirit

Nice and simple. Fill a tall glass with ice, and take 50ml of No. 3, 25ml grenadine, 25ml lime juice and some nutmeg syrup.

Top with soda water and garnish with grated nutmeg and a few frozen blueberries.

Pink 'n' Stormy

Pink 'n' Stormy

A summer favourite. This twist on the sailors’ classic tipple is perfect for beer gardens. We’ve measured this to fill a jug to share with friends – just divide by four for a glass.

First, fill a jug a quarter of the way up with ice. Add 140ml of Westerhall No. 3, and top with ginger beer (we recommend Fever-Tree). Squeeze in some lime juice, and add 40ml of grenadine. Drop in some sliced limes, add a few drops of bitters and stir it up.

Cabusai Cooler

Cabusai Cooler

A brand new creation just in time for the Great British Summertime. The Cabusai Cooler is the ultimate refresher and really easy to make.

Top a glass (or jar) with ice, and add a generous 50ml serving of Westerhall rum followed by 25ml of triple sec. Top with 75ml of cloudy apple juice and squeeze in some lime juice. Stir, and enjoy.
